IC INFORMATION
Name: silco
Canon: arcane
Age: around 48-50sish
Gender: male
Species: human
Appearance: Slim and on the shorter side, Silco probably at one time probably could have counted that as his only notable feature. He has a sharp face, a pronounced nose, and ears that are still a touch too big for his head. His hair is shaved tight at the sides and deceptively longer over the top. There are several scars on Silco's lip, but the one that catches attention is the one that only looks healed over if he's wearing makeup, because it otherwise bifurcates straight across his left eye, stringy and fetid, and it looks like his skin is rotting away. It affects everything on that side, chewing into the hairline above his ear, and just above the crest of the scar is a streak of white through his hair. But the eye is the thing that you can't miss. It's pitch black, missing an eyelid and brow, and his pupil glows with an eerie orange light.
Canon point: End of S1 – so when he died

Personality answers:
- Who in your character's canon influenced the most growth in your character? What do they think about this character?
Everyone always says you’re not ready for a child until it happens, and the person who has actually encouraged the most growth out of Silco is his daughter, Jinx. I’m going to be real, he achieved that modicum of growth in the last half hour of the show, but given that Silco is stubborn, steadfast, and immutable, the fact that he did really says a lot about the mutual influence they have on one another. It’s complex, though, at the same time. Jinx to Silco is perfect. She’s violent, manic, a monster, brilliant. She’s everything he envisions about Zaun and the very soul of it to him. She’s also the person who killed him. He will literally blame everyone else for this, but not his daughter, because self-reflection is something that Silco is very bad at. It’s a complex, codependent relationship, Silco clutches too hard, practically breaking his daughter time and time again to make sure she never leaves – it’s not healthy! But Silco did rise to the occasion ONLY ONCE. (Which leads us to… our next question!) - What is your character's biggest ambition at their current canon point? To what lengths would they go to see it to fruition?
His biggest ambition is his life’s work, it’s everything he’s worked for since he was making his way out of the mines. The place they are from, the undercity, is the poor, downtrodden sister to Piltover, the city of Progress. Progress is built on the backs of the miners and fissures that dip down into the undercity. At this point in his life, Silco will do nearly anything to see it through. He poisons his city, and works with the chembarons, which continues to bleed the citizens dry. Silco is a crimelord and mayor all in one, doling out his mission from his old haunt, the Last Drop. He has been working towards this his whole life, escalating what he is willing to do, until he’s asked to give the ultimate sacrifice to see it made manifest – he can’t give up his daughter. That’s his line in the sand, and the irony is both that it is the thing that he killed his once-brother-in-arms over, and something he now understands. It’s his undoing and it’s what keeps him from ever seeing his dream realized, that he cannot cross that final line in the sand. - What does your character think about physical appearances? Are they the sort to meticulously primp themselves, or could they not care less?
For someone who has a massive scar on their face, you would think the answer would be no, but Silco is extremely concerned with appearances. His hair is kept neat and tight – when it is out of place, he frequently runs his hands through his hair to right it – and he applies makeup to cover the scar on his face, and even draws in an eyebrow. (SLAY…) He’s fairly vain, but on top of that, he understands perception and uses that to his advantage. In this point of his life, he wears clothes that emulate topside, he wears makeup, he makes sure his eye is exposed and staring out at the world. He understands what appearances mean, and he uses those to his advantage, as he does with everything. Like a toxic creature, Silco communicates via appearance as well. Everything from the size of his collar to make him look larger, to covering up his scars to mask the evidence of his trauma, he uses it as armor as much as anything else he has. - What would be your character's lowest, darkest moment they've lived through? How did they respond to their troubles and face their demons?
Silco’s lowest, darkest moment was the events following the Day of Ash. After this event, many of the people involved were killed by enforcers – and more importantly, Silco was betrayed by his brother in arms, Vander. Afterward, Silco and Vander end up in an altercation, in which he chokes and drowns Silco in an attempt to stifle his fervent drive. Silco escaped, albeit with an injury over his eye. This schism in method essentially sets things up for the rest of their lives. Silco doesn’t actually face his demons, he becomes them. He sees this moment as his rebirth, the lesson he needs to learn. The only thing that promotes change is violence. Silco always wanted to fight, if they weren’t given their independence by peace, but this event essentially mutilated Silco, and opened the door to the dark path we see him on in the show. He is a stronger man, more twisted, and angry. He never gave up on his dream, the one for a Nation of Zaun, but now he’s become harder, more driven, more willing to do anything that he needs to, to see that dream made manifest.
Inventory:
- Medical grade shimmer in an applicator (he needs his medicine) (This is not technically magical but it IS shimmer, which means that it is a narcotic and drug that has certain medicinal properties. It’s used for microdose applications via the puncturing device, and according to interviews is different than the drug-form of shimmer.)
- An Ashtray that’s been drawn all over by his DAUGHTER
- His Revenge Knife
- A vial of real shimmer - this is a powerful drug that enhances speed, strength, and endurance. It’s like the super soldier drug but it’s WORSE, because it’s highly addictive as well as can erode individuals with use. In small doses it can simulate a high and be effectively used without the side effects (and when smoked it doesn’t do anything I guess??? From people smoking it) it can also be applied topically as a healing agent. It’s extremely versatile, and I’m sure that one vial will go far. (:))
Powers/Abilities: Easy: None! He’s a normal guy with VERY normal opinions about power…I am sure that this will uh manifest in very normal ways…
Samples: Pt 1/Pt 2 & Pt 1/Pt 2
Goals: Now that Silco’s had a taste of the power (thanks, Patho-Gen!) he will be relentless in controlling his soul and learning everything he can about it. He’ll take to investing in others (especially the shady types) to get a more comprehensive understanding of the power. Longer term, I expect he will be investing in the Lower class/Impoverished and I think once he gets wind of the defectors uhhhh those will be something he’ll be extremely interested in investigating and probably whipping up a bit. (It’s Silco, I’m sorry.) He’ll long-term want to go home now that he is resurrected (idiot) but I’ve done this song and dance before so that’ll be a project he doesn’t actively work on in my rp bc lmao he can’t. But It will be a springboard to further discoveries while he investigates the world. Who knows, maybe that single vial of shimmer will come up! I love planting little chekov’s guns to use later down the line! In short, learn everything he can, then try and get a base of power, and then.. Profit? I’m sure that he’ll make waves (sorry) and probably do things that people don’t like (always) for his own selfish designs.
